*Myofascial release is a firm but relaxing technique that can help release and ease the tension in the connective tissue network of the body known as the Fascia. This fascia consists of connective tissue which forms layers beneath the skin to attach, stabilise, enclose and separate muscles and internal organs. As the main function of the fascia is to allow effective sliding amongst these structures, it is often missed that it is still prone to adhesions caused from poor postures, previous injury or invasive procedures. These adhesions cause myofascial pain, which is a very common non-articular, localized musculoskeletal pain that is caused by myofascial trigger points located in the muscle, fascia and tendons, which in turn affects approximately 95% of people suffering from chronic pain disorders. Myofascial release aims to unlock the fascia tissue and with that alleviate pain, lack of movement and dysfunction.
